@gimboland I think i remember that one
Dow closed down 777 (6.98%) - SHIIIIIIT!!!
Watching all hell break loose on Wall Street.
Finally moving again.. but the train keeps coming to a halt, making a loud rumbling noise, then starting again every few hundred metres!
Concerned that the train has stopped, engine gone silent and the lights have gone out
T-Mobile 3G seems to be on and off like a yo-yo this evening :-(
Busy reinventing the wheel…
Weekly team briefing complete - now on with the real work
Drunking? WTF? Drinking a huge cup of tea & wondering what to do this evening
Drunking a huge cup of tea wondering what to do this evening
Heading home, composing a blog in my head about a new website launch
@jonhurlock that’s fantastic. my opinion of voyager just increased 100%
@frosty Cardiff City vs Swansea at liberty stadium. I’d avoid central Swansea tonight if I were you - things could get nasty
@jonhurlock no problem. fingers crossed you’ll win.
Pad of paper, check. Pencil, check. Photoshop, check. Caramel hot chocolate from starbucks, check. Time for some designing!
Rang O2 and had replacement charger ordered within 6 minutes (approximately 20 times quicker than if i’d been with Orange)
iPhone charger just went bang and now refuses to charge anything - replacing the fuse had no effect :-/
Waiting for a train at a strangely quiet Cardiff Central station.
yay, I get to go offsite on Thursday! Will be visiting a client in Bristol.
@tobeon because he’s setting up his own business?
Wandering around the Abergavenny food festival trying out cheese, wine, cider & beer.
woo pizza time :-P
loving the pirate translation of facebook
@glitchkitty I’m not so sure. It certainly not the nicest font in the world, but it is much better than Times.
@glitchkitty its georgia - a font that has been appearing on the net more and more regularly recently
@glitchkitty probably!
@glitchkitty @gimboland its probably b in this case. Arriva made £116m profit last year
@glitchkitty who knows. all I know is that I can drive in for the same cost and less time. so much for “we should all use public transport”!
Hmm, all of A2Z-computing’s name servers are down or not reporting answers - so much for redundancy!
@glitchkitty the driver managers are on strike over pay and conditions. everyone else is supporting them. I’m glad i drove into work today!
@glitchkitty I had to get dad to pick me up from work yesterday. Apparently drivers have refused to cross the picket line.
@akyan at least the planes are working. Arriva are telling people not to travel - the 30 members of staff on strike are causing hell
Arriva: The strike will not cause any disruption. Me: wondering why everything from Cardiff is cancelled & there are no staff
@gimboland canada sounds like a good bet right now
@IanTucker i don’t really care how anonymous it is.its a dangerous technology to begin with and those controls will reduce over time
time to leave the UK. UK government has ruled Phorm complies with the Data Protection Act
i see that as expected last night, the Scotland Office minister David Cairns has resigned from the government. who’s next?!
@glitchkity i feel the same now. really wanted to leave 4 months ago, now want to go back!
@seanhandley bugs do not exist - they are just undocumented features
heading home
learning how to handle online credit card payments
in work at 6AM. on the upside, it means I can leave early today!
@akyan WTF?
@seanhandley happy birthday :-)
And so the drunken dancing begins…
Lost in london because of an accident & no 3G signal
Navigating the M25
Stuck in traffic trying to get out of Cardiff :-(
@akyan what’s his misunderstanding about?
WTF? - UK GVT recommends web developers only support browsers with higher than 2% share (IE and Firefox) - http://tinyurl.com/6h6ao2
@frosty I have never developed ASP pages in Notepad. EditPlus FTW!
Urgh, dame iPhone and it’s predictive text going wrong :-(
Waiting at Newport station for a delayed @Charlie_slide
Web development - building back end systems in VB.Net *shudder*
@glitchkitty want to swap jobs?
Is it ever going to stop raining?!
@frosty jonhurlock’s book is identical to one of mine - so probably best get it from him if you want it
@frosty if i was near swansea you could borrow my few books… unfortunately, am in cardiff / abergavenny now
@gimboland ah, that explains it. tbh, i wasn’t a fan at first, but I’ve gotten used to it and see the advantages
@jonhurlock yeah. loads of people i know started joining anti-facebook redesign groups this weekend - 5 or6 have just cropped up
trying to figure out why suddenly, everyone complaining about the new facebook design again - its been around for at least a month now!
Wading through census records
Went to tesco, picked up everything I wanted, got to checkout & realized my wallet is on my desk
Heading home
hoping it stops raining before I head home
@frosty i believe it is a certified application
@frosty IE?! *shudder* :-P
Impressed with Chrome and thanking @glitchkitty for that mental image. lol.
playing with Google Chrome
@jonhurlock we’ll have to see what its like when they launch it.
@jonhurlock thats the aim of it - but you know it never quite works that well. each browser has its own rendering quirks
Wondering how much work Google Chrome is going to cause for me :(
Sat on a slow moving train with one engine and no heating, wondering what @glitchkitty is so hyper about :-p
@gareththomas it doesn’t surprise me to be honest!
